Shri Garimella Venkata Sathya Bhaskar ( G V S Bhaskar) was born on 18th September, 1960 at VIZIANAGARAM in the state of ANDHRA PRADESH. He holds Master of Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and B. Tech from Regional Engg College, Warangal. He joined HAL in August 1984 and started his career in the erstwhile Helicopter Design Bureau (HDB) now known as Rotary Wing Research & Design Centre (RWRDC) as Aeronautical Engineer.
As a technical & management executive, he has 33 years of experience in various spectrum of Aeronautical Field. He possesses functional & technical leadership apart from management skills. Up till the position of Addl. General Manager, he worked in the areas of design, development and prototype manufacturing at RWRDC, before moving to Helicopter Division as AGM ALH Flight Hangar in 2011. Subsequently , he was then given the task of heading the manufacture and Customer Services Departments of ALH. From the Helicopter Manufacturing Division, he moved to Helicopter MRO Division in 2015 as General Manager in Sept. 2015 to head the Division. He took over the leadership of Helicopter Complex from 01 October, 2017 as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Shri Bhaskar’s experience covers the entire gamut of rotary wing aircraft viz. design & development, prototype manufacture, Shop Floor management, Project management, manufacturing engineering, production planning & control, facility management and maintenance repair & overhaul.
During his term in Rotary Wing Research and Design Centre of Bangalore, he was involved/ responsible for Prototype development / manufacture assembly and testing of mechanical systems.
As General Manager of Helicopter MRO Division, he was responsible for Maintenance Repair & Overhaul of ALH fleet in India & abroad. During his tenure, he ensured sustained increase in the serviceability of ALH fleet operated by Indian Armed Forces. His in depth knowledge in the design, development, manufacture & production of Helicopters has helped in better understanding of Customer concerns and quick resolution to the satisfaction of Customers.
