Shri V. M. Chamola was appointed as Director (Human Resources) of the Company with effect from July 27 July, 2011. He holds Masters Degree in Economics from Garhwal University, LLB from APS University & MBA(HRM) from IGNOU.
Shri Chamola served NTPC and NJPC in various capacities before joining HAL in 1996 as Deputy General Manager (Personnel & Administration) at Engine Division, Bangalore Complex. He was promoted as Additional General Manger (Personnel & Administration) and later joined Corporate Office.
He has also served as Chief General Manager, BEML. He possesses rich experience in HRD and has contributed towards streamlining the HR systems with a view to provide a healthy environment.
He was conferred the “Chanakya Award” for Business Excellence in HR on February 12, 2012 by the Public Relations Council of India (PRCI) during its Annual Conclave at Mumbai in February 2012. He also held the additional charge of the post of Managing Director (Accessories Complex), HAL in respect of Hyderabad and Korwa Divisions, from August 1, 2013 to March 31, 2015.
Shri Arup Chatterjee was appointed as Director (Engeering and R&D) of the Company with effect from June 1, 2018. He is a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, and has done M. Tech in Aircraft Production Engineering from IIT, Chennai. He has also done MBA from IGNOU.
Shri Chatterjee joined HAL as 17th Batch Management Trainee in the year 1982. He had held several key positions in the Company prior to his elevation as Director (Engg. and R&D).
Shri Arup Chatterjee has over 36 years of wide experience in Aerospace Industry. During his career spanning 36 years, Shri Chatterjee has served in various Divisions of HAL. He was the head of Machine Shop, Methods Deptt., IMM Department, Projects, Planning of Avionics Equipment required for Russian & Western origin Aircraft platform, in Korwa Division, where he has served for 28 years. He has also served in Kanpur Division for 4 years in the field of Air Frame Manufacturing and had served in the capacity of head of IJT project, Planning and IMM for Dornier, Avro & UAV Projects.
Further, he had served in Koraput Division of HAL, where he had immensely contributed in various programmes / projects viz., Repair & Overhaul of R25, R29B & R33 engines for MiG series fighter aircraft as well as Manufacture & repair/overhaul of AL31FP engines for Su-30 aircraft. Prior to his elevation to the post of Director (Engg. and R&D), he was the General Manager of Aircraft Research & Design Centre.
Shri C B Ananthakrishnan was appointed as Director (Finance) of our Company with effect from August 1, 2018. Prior to his appointment as Director (Finance), he was holding the post of Executive Director (Finance) of our Company. He joined our company as Chief Manager (Finance) on 31st March 2004 and thereafter worked in various capacities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Loyola College, Chennai, MBA in Finance from Madras University and is a Cost & Management Accountant. He has over 30 years of work experience in Public & Private sectors with stints in merchant banking, pharmaceuticals, fertilizers, aerospace industry and has held various positions in our Company. He is also nominee Director of HAL in the Board of three joint ventures of HAL.
He played an active role in HAL’s Initial Public Offer (IPO) during March 2018. Having rich experience in pricing, he was instrumental in signing of major helicopter contracts of HAL including supply of 159 helicopters to the Armed Forces.
Shri M. S. Velpari was appointed as Director (Operations) of the Company with effect from August 1, 2019. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai and did Masters from IIT Madras in Aircraft Production Engineering.
He joined HAL in 1984 and belongs to 20th batch Management Trainee, and has about 35 years of experience in the areas of Manufacturing, Assembly, Design, Product support, customer support, Indigenisation and other Management functions,in various types of fixed wing and rotary wing platforms. He worked in various divisions like Aircraft Division of Bangalore &Nashik, Foundry &Forge division in Bangalore. His latest assignmentwas as Chief of Project, LCA-Tejas Programme at Bangalore, before assuming charge as Director (Operations) of HAL.
During his tenure at LCA Tejas division, the division saw a sustained growth in production from initial 2 Aircraftper annum in 2015-16 to 8 Aircraft per annum in 2018-19. He had taken path breaking steps withthe strategic outsourcing ofstructural assemblies of Tejas, which is poised to grow further. In his earlier stint at F&F division, he has championed the task of Indigenisation which is todays “Make in India”. A phenomenal numberof 1850 types of Castings, Forgings Rolled Rings and Rubber Products were indigenised under his meticulous leadership.
He had bagged the prestigious National Award “Indigenisation of the year award” for his work in productionisingof Shape memory Ferrules for use in LCA.
Ms. Dipali Khanna was appointed as Independent Director on the Board of the Company with effect from January 8, 2016. She has done Master’s Degree in Arts with specialization in History from Delhi University. She holds Master’s Degree in Science (specialization in National Security) from National Defence College and has also done Certificate Course in Cost & Management Accountancy from the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants, New Delhi.
Ms. Dipali Khanna started her career with the Indian Railway Accounts Service in the year 1976 and has contributed substantially during her career spanning over 39 years with various Government Departments. Formulation of long-term plans that addressed key development goals and objectives of various Ministries of the Government of India was a critical component of her responsibilities. Ms. Khanna has played a key role in establishment of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and was also responsible for overseeing the restructuring of the then defunct National Film Development Corporation Ltd. (NFDC) by the Government of India, resulting in the Company achieving profitability within one year of restructuring after more than a decade of recurring losses.
Ms. Khanna has also served actively on the Boards of other Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) under Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Power and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. She is presently an Independent Director on the Boards of India Power Corporation Ltd. and Nitesh Estates Ltd.
Mr. G.V. Sesha Reddy is the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of our Company. He is a member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He also holds bachelor of commerce degree from Venkateshwara University and master’s degree in business administration and bachelor of laws from Osmania University. He had joined our Company on June 18, 2015. Prior to joining HAL, Reddy had an experience of about 25 years in other organisations.

Shri Rajiv Kumar, an accomplished professional with over 37 years of comprehensive Management and Engineering experience, is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, an MBA and also an alumnus of National Law School of India University. Shri Rajiv Kumar started his career in Hindustan Aeronautics Limited as a Management Trainee (Technical) and was elevated to the post of Chief Executive Officer (Accessories Complex) in April 2015.
After completing 72 weeks of academic training at IIT Madras and Management Academy of HAL, Shri Rajiv Kumar handled various key assignments at 3 Divisions of HAL, each having distinctly different product lines. He has hands-on experience in diverse fields of Component Machining, Assembly and Testing of Aircraft Accessories and Manufacturing and Overhaul of Trainer, Transport and Fighter Aircraft of both Western and Russian platforms like HPT-32, Kiran Mk-I/IA/II, MiG 21, MiG 27, Jaguar, Mirage, Sea Harrier, AN 32, Avro, Dornier and NCA (Under Development at NAL), Helicopters and UAVs.
As CEO of Accessories Complex of HAL, Shri Rajiv Kumar has administrative control and overall responsibility of Accessories Division – Lucknow, Avionics Division – Korwa(UP), Avionics Division – Hyderabad, Strategic Electronics Factory – Kasargod(Kerala), Transport Aircraft Division – Kanpur and HAL detachment at Agra. While the Divisions at Lucknow, Korwa, Hyderabad & Kasargod are currently engaged in manufacturing and repair/overhaul of accessories for both Fixed wing & Rotary wing aircraft & also of Aero-engines, TAD Kanpur Division & HAL detachment at Agra are engaged in manufacturing & Overhaul of Transport Aircraft. As a Co-opted member of High Powered Committee (HPC) for National Civil Aircraft Development Programme (NCAD), constituted by Govt. of India, he was involved in preparation of Infrastructure Project Report on National Civil Aircraft (NCA). He has also significantly contributed as a member of the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC) constituted by Air Headquarter for the selection of Basic Trainer Aircraft for Air Force and was closely associated with R-29 Engine and Mirage upgrade programme.
Extensively travelled and with wide exposure to International Aviation Industry of Europe & Russia, Shri Rajiv Kumar has a knack for identifying key issues and differentiators. He is a Strategy Leader with excellent negotiation skills. He possesses keen interest in academics and has attended management courses at institutes of repute in India (IIMs) and internationally (Ecole Polytechnique Federale De Laussnne at Geneva; University of St Gallen at Zurich; ESCP Europe Campus at Berlin; and Chicago Booth, Executive Education Centre in USA).
Active in professional societies, Shri Rajiv Kumar also serves as managing committee member of ASSOCHAM, member of Lucknow Management Association (LMA) and Aeronautical Society of India (AeSI). He is a passionate communicator, skilled at exciting the audiences at conferences, as well as providing riveting insights into technology through product-displays and exhibits. In an Air Transport Seminar organized by “AIRBUS” – France, he was conferred with 2 prizes in recognition to his demonstration of remarkable competence in presentation & conceptualization skills. An impassioned speaker, Sh. Rajiv Kumar evinces keen interest in interacting with Industry & Academia. He has addressed many Industry participants at CII & PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry to guide and motivate them to seize the huge manufacturing opportunity available in the country on account of Offsets. During his talks at IIT Kanpur, Bombay, Kharaghpur & Roorkee, he has exhorted Academia to actively associate with Industry for new Research & Development in the field of Aviation.

Shri Shekhar Shrivastava is currently holding the position of Chief Executive Officer of Bangalore Complex. After reconstitution of the Board of HAL from 01st April 2015, the position of Managing Director of Bangalore Complex has been re-designated as Chief Executive Officer of Bangalore Complex.
Bangalore Complex comprises of 10 Divisions and is involved in Production, Repair & Overhaul of Aircraft and Engines, Production of Aerospace Structures, Castings & Forgings to meet the requirement of Indian Defence Forces, Space Programmes and Export Customers. The important programmes currently under progress in Bangalore Complex are Hawk Mk 132, LCA Tejas Production, Mirage and Jaguar Drain-III upgrade Programme.
Shri Shekhar Shrivastava is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Bhagalpur College of Engineering, Bhagalpur and holds Master's degree from llT Chennai in Aircraft Production Engineering. He joined Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, as Management Trainee (Technical) in 1983.
During his career spanning 34 years in HAL, he has worked in Lucknow Division, Accessories Complex, Corporate Office, Aircraft Division and Aerospace Division of Bangalore Complex. He has experience of working in various departments of HAL such as Planning & Projects, Customer Services, Marketing, Quality Control, Manufacturing, External Sourcing, Assembly Shop, Assembly & Manufacturing Inspection.
Shri Shrivastava headed Hawk Mk 132 AJT Project and MMRCA program as Project Manager, where he successfully implemented the Project Management concepts.
Prior to his current posting, he headed Aerospace Division, Bangalore Complex. During his tenure Aerospace Division achieved significant improvement in performance.
He has vast experience of handling very complex projects involving various stake holders and interactions with customers like Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, Ministry of Defence and many overseas customers. He also carries with him, the experience of working in almost all departments of a business entity.
Shri Garimella Venkata Sathya Bhaskar ( G V S Bhaskar) was born on 18th September, 1960 at VIZIANAGARAM in the state of ANDHRA PRADESH. He holds Master of Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and B. Tech from Regional Engg College, Warangal. He joined HAL in August 1984 and started his career in the erstwhile Helicopter Design Bureau (HDB) now known as Rotary Wing Research & Design Centre (RWRDC) as Aeronautical Engineer.
As a technical & management executive, he has 33 years of experience in various spectrum of Aeronautical Field. He possesses functional & technical leadership apart from management skills. Up till the position of Addl. General Manager, he worked in the areas of design, development and prototype manufacturing at RWRDC, before moving to Helicopter Division as AGM ALH Flight Hangar in 2011. Subsequently , he was then given the task of heading the manufacture and Customer Services Departments of ALH. From the Helicopter Manufacturing Division, he moved to Helicopter MRO Division in 2015 as General Manager in Sept. 2015 to head the Division. He took over the leadership of Helicopter Complex from 01 October, 2017 as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Shri Bhaskar’s experience covers the entire gamut of rotary wing aircraft viz. design & development, prototype manufacture, Shop Floor management, Project management, manufacturing engineering, production planning & control, facility management and maintenance repair & overhaul.
During his term in Rotary Wing Research and Design Centre of Bangalore, he was involved/ responsible for Prototype development / manufacture assembly and testing of mechanical systems.
As General Manager of Helicopter MRO Division, he was responsible for Maintenance Repair & Overhaul of ALH fleet in India & abroad. During his tenure, he ensured sustained increase in the serviceability of ALH fleet operated by Indian Armed Forces. His in depth knowledge in the design, development, manufacture & production of Helicopters has helped in better understanding of Customer concerns and quick resolution to the satisfaction of Customers.
Shri Bh. V. Seshagiri Rao is currently holding the position of Chief Executive Officer, MiG Complex. Born in 1961, he is a graduate in Electronics & Communications Engineering from Andhra University and holds Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Osmania University, Telangana. He joined on 01.06.1983 in Avionics Division, Hyderabad.
During his career spanning 35 years in HAL, he has experience of working in various departments like Quality Control, Assembly & Testing and Program Management of Aircraft and its accessories. His areas of focus have been Indigenization of spare parts of Aircraft and engines for self-reliance. He is intensely associated to enhance the capacity of repair and overhaul of Su-30 MKI Aircraft and its Rotables. He is expert of handling Russian origin projects involved in Manufacture and Overhaul of Su-30 MKI Aircraft having worked in the project from inception to establishment of Raw material Manufacturing Phase (Ph IV).
He has co-ordinated various major projects viz. Su-30 MKI, FGFA, MTA and AL-55 I during their active phase as Resident Manager, Liaison Office, HAL (Moscow), Russian Federation. He has formulated the contract for Price Catalogue to drastically cut down the time frames involved in spares procurement for Russian origin Aircraft, Engines & Systems.
He has worked as General Manager, AOD and handled Overhaul of Su-30MKI and MiG-21 variants. He encouraged public private partnership through enhanced outsourcing related to aircraft overhaul and services. Under his dynamic leadership, AOD Division bagged “Customer Services Performance Award” at Inter Division Awards 2016-17. He has been known for its proactive approach in customer support. In addition, he was guiding HALCON a partnership company with CONCOR that has emerged as a major Cargo Hub in the region.
He was also responsible for operationalization of Ozar Airport that is growing at a rapid pace and is attracting Cargo load for exports and serving the Nation as Airport identified under RCS-UDAN scheme.
